Frequently Asked Questions

What is the admission process?

Our admissions team is here to guide you through every step of your journey to The Beekeeper House in Chiang Mai. From the moment you reach out, we’ll provide clear support for both you and anyone assisting you along the way.

The process begins with a preliminary assessment to better understand your needs and ensure our programme is the right fit. Once a decision has been made to move forward, we’ll assist with planning and logistics, offering guidance on travel arrangements while respecting your autonomy.

Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, you will be met at the airport by a member of our team and brought to the centre. From there, you’ll undergo a medical evaluation and a comprehensive wellness assessment to help us tailor your programme to your unique goals and circumstances.

How Long Do I Need To Stay?

You may have seen 28-day programmes mentioned often by wellness centres. This timeline doesn’t have a strong clinical foundation—it originally came from the amount of leave granted to military personnel in the 1970s and simply became common practice.

In reality, there is no “magic number” when it comes to personal transformation. However, research suggests that longer stays—closer to 90 days—are typically more effective for creating lasting change. While everyone’s journey is different, the evidence supports the benefits of extended support and structure.

At The Beekeeper House, our minimum stay is 35 days. We’ve found this is the shortest period that allows us to build meaningful trust, lay strong foundations, and begin to support deep personal shifts in a safe and structured environment.

What is the cost of a stay?

The Beekeeper House is positioned in the mid-to-upper range of wellness centres in the region. From time to time, we offer promotional rates, and we’re happy to discuss these with you.

We are a fully accredited mental health facility with world-class amenities, experienced staff, and a commitment to delivering exceptional care. Our focus is on quality, consistency, and ensuring every guest receives the full value of their stay—without compromise.

For up-to-date pricing or tailored packages, please get in touch with our admissions team.

How do I know you’re the right place for me?

Our preliminary assessment is designed to help both you and our team determine whether The Beekeeper House is the right fit for your needs. This initial discovery call is free, and it’s your opportunity to ask any questions about our services, environment, and approach to care.

We’ll also take the time to understand your individual circumstances and assess how we can best support you. If—for any reason—we feel another provider may be a better match, we’ll do our best to connect you with a trusted alternative.

Why Do We Emphasise Complementary Therapies Like Mindfulness?

Mindfulness, yoga, and meditation are some of the most well-researched and effective complementary therapies available today. Studies—including large-scale meta-analyses—have shown that these practices can significantly reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and support long-term behaviour change.

At The Beekeeper House, we integrate these approaches with clinical psychology and modern medical care to create a comprehensive and balanced therapeutic experience. This combination helps individuals build resilience, gain clarity, and foster meaningful personal transformation.

Arriving in Thailand: What You Need to Know

Before you arrive in Chiang Mai, our admissions team will provide you with a full briefing on everything you need for a smooth entry. This includes guidance on visa requirements and any relevant documentation. Entry regulations can change frequently, but our team stays up to date and will ensure you have the most current and accurate information. We’re here to make your arrival as stress-free and straightforward as possible.

Why Choose Our Mental Health Centre in Thailand?

Thailand offers a uniquely supportive environment for healing, and Chiang Mai is especially well-suited for recovery. With its calm climate, natural beauty, and strong local wellness community, it provides an ideal setting for rest and personal transformation.

At The Beekeeper House, we are proud to offer exceptional care at a more accessible price point than comparable services in the US, UK, Australia, or New Zealand. Thanks to the lower cost of operations in Thailand, we’re able to deliver world-class facilities and professional expertise—without compromising on quality.

In addition to a high standard of care, clients benefit from easy access to international medical services, experienced local staff, and a wide range of therapeutic and cultural experiences. It’s a unique combination that makes our Chiang Mai-based mental health retreat a standout choice for those seeking meaningful, lasting change.

Do You Accept Health Insurance?

Yes, we are happy to work with health insurance providers. In most cases, you will need a Letter of Guarantee—a formal document from your insurer confirming the approved coverage amount, any co-payments, and applicable terms and conditions.

To secure your place at The Beekeeper House, an initial deposit is still required. Our admissions team will guide you through this process and help coordinate any necessary documentation with your insurer. We can also assist you with the steps required to access your superannuation if you’re eligible.

Who Are The Beekeeper Group?

The Beekeeper House is part of a broader regional network dedicated to mental health and holistic well-being. With years of experience supporting hundreds of clients, our group includes a range of affiliated companies focused on complementary wellness, including yoga and mindfulness-based practices.

This collaboration allows us to draw on a wide pool of knowledge, insight, and practical expertise. Across our centres and partner services, we bring together a team of compassionate professionals who share a commitment to integrative care and client-centered recovery.

What Should I Bring With Me?

Chiang Mai has a tropical climate, with warm, humid days and cooler evenings—particularly from December through February. Since our centre is located in the hills, temperatures can be slightly cooler than in the city, especially at night. We recommend packing light, breathable clothing for the daytime and a few warmer layers for the evenings.

When exploring outside the centre, it’s important to be mindful of local customs. Thailand has a more conservative dress culture in public spaces. For example, when visiting temples or cultural sites, both shoulders and knees should be covered out of respect.

Our team will also provide you with a welcome guide before you arrive, including a suggested packing list and anything else you may want to bring to feel comfortable and prepared for your stay.
